In terms of ease of use then UE3 beats Cry3, Cry3 is a nice engine to program for but it is very resource heavy as you can see from Crysis2 and very difficult to use. UE3 is a beautiful engine to program for, look at Blade and Soul, Tera, Gears of War, Batman AC and AA, Infinity Blade 1/2(iOS) and ME3 for example and it is exteremly easy to use (there is also plenty of documentation out there).

    L2R reject :p

edit: to clarify Adagio asked about game engines and performance, as I know that he is/has been dabbling with game creation I understood the question to be related to ease of use and performance in regard to creation not that of the end user. Congratulations Fozia for not having a bollocks computer (more than 85% of gamers have a computer that is more than 3 years old btw).

Yeah I tend to dabble with servers and engines. I'm still stuck in the old days of mods where 32 players was the limit.

Never thought a ut engine could handle hundreds of players.

The game play sucks balls but how the world pvp works is awosme..
Quote: Suspicious to say the least, indeed. Their IMMENSE show of force in Africa took everyone by surprise, even many of the Templar themselves, i'm sure.

How can something not be awsome when u read that sentence...

Pretty sure everyone on this forum is in agreement that TSW does a lot of cool things in its design, however, the sheer lack of any effort put into animations and graphics make it a complete joke of a game.

    Doodle Bush Whacker!

That thread is actually about their web based game and not the game itself..

Because that's nothing to do with TSW ;)
that thread is about the browser game "The Secret War" not the MMO "The Secret World"

yup look like this will miss its full potential but come on who can say they really expected funcom to pull it out the bag on this?... it was always a case of how much they wouldnt screw it up :p plus seeing as how a load of you only paid a fiver I think Ill hold off nit picking too much :D

up until i got to try it for a brief few moments yesterday i was a tiny bit annoyed i missed the chance of getting the game for a measly fiver, now i think i'll keep the fiver. i mean sure with AoC it wasn't brilliant but the first 10-20 levels sucked me in and got me quite excited, an hour or so of this didn't manage to grab my attention at all, glad i got to try it a bit tho to know i ain't missing out on much :)

Maybe someone at Asda played the game and thought it was a bargain bucket game?

Also watched TBs stream where he did some interesting quests which had puzzles and riddles in them. If only combat and animations were as decent.

So I have been playing this today and totally lost track of time (started at about 10am), if you ignore the animation issues that we all seem to have with TSW the game itself is actually quite good. The missions are well thought out and far more interesting than those of other MMO's out there. The puzzles are great and will surely piss you off to the point you won't give up (btw the game even hints that you should use Google).

I'm not saying its the game of the century, but I am more tempted to play this than I was before today.

Its the most expensive sub also.

Its 15 euros compared to the 12-13 euro on other MMO's

So With the early access starting is this game hit or miss? i am not pre ordering another game again (am considering GW2 pre order but not decided yet) after getting burned on SWTOR, i was concerned about this game when i heard EA are publishing and given funcoms form i was very very concerned.

As GW2 is reigniting my interest in gaming again is this game going to piss me off like the plethora of wow clones have or does it really bring something new to the table? I have stayed away from the hype machine and prefer to get the opinion from the gamers i trust.

Is there anything sandboxy at all here?
is the PvP endgame worthy of investing time in?
is the crafting worthy of specialising in?

I am not interested in a filler until GW2 comes out. But i could be tempted as something to do alongside GW2 if this game has legs.

    Oi oi Spud..

There are some nice touches, and the lack of levelling is kind of nice, the content is decent, but the animations are stunningly POOR!!!.. it's ok, but it's just ok imo.
