Saw this on the GW2 forums and had a read and does make you think

A lot of what he says is so true, my first mmo was Lineage 2, there was barely 40 quests and after 2 years I was lvl 62 of 75, you could spend months in one area and the only instance on the map was a 100+ man raid boss's cave. The crafting, you had to gather all the mats, like 1000s for one weapon, one race and class had gather skills, and only one race and class could craft! no one else, you had to work together, there were basically no drops make it of buy shit gear from NPC's and best of all no Action House, players set up shop or you traded in chat.... sounds shit? Played it for 2 years and loved it, still my fondest mmo.
After that was WoW, vanilla, while every mmoer worth their salt will claimed to have farmed 40 man Naxx I think they claimed as...

So this post by my good friend Dalmarus over at TenTonHammer, got the old nostalgia juices flowing yet again! I remember the days of corpse runs and the fun (at the time it was) getting back to your body and worldly possessions, the fact there was a character/class mechanic to help (Necromancers were never out of work summoning folk) and it made people think about what they were doing rather than just blindly running in as they do now.
So my question to you, of everything you have experienced (old and new) in your time playing MMO’s what elements of gameplay would you bring back and what would you get rid of – if you were the developer?
Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear the reasons behind your choices as well

Inspired somewhat by the recent post on WildStar Central and Allstar 's article over at MMORPG.com I thought it would be good to see what folk here remembered as their most epic moment in MMO gaming history. Was it the first time you stepped in to the world and gazed at wonder at everything, through to the first time you were involved in raiding or maybe that crafted epic item that cost you in time and fortune, it could be just as simple as PvP fun in the open world.
Let us know in the comments what you remember most, what was that one epic moment in your (MMO) gaming history?...

On the Saturday evening after dinner there were two competitions held for attendees to get involved in, as we are a competitive bunch we of course got involved in both.
First up was a speed run of Stormtalon’s Lair, a PvE five-man dungeon available to players at level 22, this was the first time that the dungeon had been playable and was only actually revealed a few days prior to the ArkShip weekend.
Our group consisted of a Stalker (yours truly) Kephir healing on an Esper, Fallanx tanking on a Warrior, Tvar dpsing on a Warrior and Merketh supporting on a hybrid build Spellslinger.
Due to this being a competition we rushed through the instance and sadly did not pay much attention to the smaller details like loot and scenery. But to compare it to any recent games I have to say that WildStar PvE is a mix of WoW’s smoothness and combat combined...
